Lemon Rinsing your hair + My new blonde look!

Hey guys!

In today's post I am going to let you all in on one of my new favorite steps, that I have added into my hair care routine! But before that...for those who don't know....I. Went. Blonde. Well kind of. If you have ever read my blog you definitely have seen my super dark almost black hair, that I've had for over three years now. Well bon voyage dark hair, the new lighter me is here to stay! For those who are wondering about specific color, I would say I have a light caramel brown / dark blonde into a honey blonde, into a super pale blonde. Yes all those colors go into my new ombre locks!

So naturally when I made the color change I knew I needed to change up my hair care routine. I have to say, having dark hair was a lot more low maintenance, but for now I think the color is worth the extra steps. The first things I knew I needed to start getting, was some new shampoo and conditioner. For this I just purchased some color protecting products. Now for the blonde on my hair I was definitely thinking I needed to get purple shampoo, however being that my hair has a pretty caramel type of color right now, I didn't want to totally ash it out. Hence why I decided to just get things to protect my color but not alter it. Also when going lighter you definitely are going to need to invest in some deep conditioners, for obvious reasons lol!

This brings me to the next bit of my new routine. Something I never have used before, a lemon rinse. Now when you have dark hair, typically you stay away from anything "lemon" as most lemon products are for blondes and it makes you kind of Leary that your hair may be lightened.

But this lemon rinse is so different. This Lemon Rinse from Beautiful Nutrition, is a ph balancing restoring rinse.

- What it does / Why you should lemon rinse -

*Gently removes product buildup
*Smooths cuticles
*Balance ph balance in the scalp to promote healthy hair growth
*Enhances shine
*Boosts volume
*Specifically made for all hair types and color treated hair
*Color safe
*Prevents frizz
*Seals in moisture

- How to use -

What I do is first start off washing my hair with the color safe shampoo and conditioner like normal. Then I use a deep conditioner - wash it out. Then use the lemon rinse all over my scalp and even down to the tip of my hair. I let it sit in for a few seconds then just rinse it out. I have to say even though I only started using this product recently, it has definitely become a staple in my hair care routine, and a must have for any one who may suffer with a gentle scalp, like me. This products is such an all in one, being that it has so many uses I would seriously recommend it to everyone. Weather you are trying to calm an irritated scalp, boost shine, help prevent frizz, there is something that just about every hair type can gain from this product alone. Add it into your hair care routine and let me know how you like it!
